Microsoft Authenticator Guide - Multi-Factor Authentication Set Up from Computers
To set up the Microsoft Authenticator app, please follow the guide below. Please be patient with the Microsoft website during this process.
1. Sign in to your account on your workstation (laptop or desktop) by going to https://portal.office.com > enter your first.last@ranchehrlo.ca > enter your password.

2. You will be prompted to verify your account and set up the Microsoft Authenticator app. If you don't already have the app on your cellphone, click Download now and scan the appropriate QR code for your device; otherwise, click Next. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.

3. You will now be prompted to set up your account in the app. Click Show QR code or Next.

4. With your phone, in the Microsoft Authenticator app, tap the QR code button. Scan the code displayed on the computer.

5. On the computer, you will be provided an authentication code, and on your phone, the Microsoft Authenticator app will prompt you to enter the provided code. Follow the prompts until completely successful.



The process should now be completed on your workstation.
You will now be required to authenticate with the Microsoft Authenticator app going forward.
