Microsoft Authenticator Guide - Multi-Factor Authentication Set Up from Mobile Phone
To set up the Microsoft Authenticator app with just a mobile phone, please follow the guide below.
1. On your phone, open a web browser, go to https://portal.office.com, and sign in to your account > enter your email firstname.lastname@ranchehrlo.ca > enter your password.

2. You will be prompted to secure and verify your account. Click Next.

3. The next prompt will be to get/install the Microsoft Authenticator app. If you don't already have the app on your phone, tap Download now, then tap the appropriate Get the app link for your device; otherwise, tap Next. This should open the proper page for the Microsoft Authenticator app in your device's respective app store, go through the process to install the app. Ensure that the app is specifically the Microsoft Authenticator app, as there are others that look and are named very similarly.
After the Microsoft Authenticator app finishes installing, go back to the web browser and tap Next.

4. Next, you'll be prompted to pair your Ranch account with the authenticator app. Tap Pair your account to the app by clicking this link., then tap Open. You'll be brought back to the authenticator app, where you'll find that your Ranch account has now been added. You may be prompted that Authenticator would like to send you notifications, which we recommend that you select Allow, follow the prompts as instructed.

5. Go back to the web browser. You will now be provided an authentication code. You may receive an Approve sign-in? notification at the top of your screen, tap the notification or open the Microsoft Authenticator app again. The app will then prompt you to enter the provided code.

6. Go back to the web browser one more time and follow the remaining prompts to complete the authentication and set up process.

You will now be required to authenticate with the Microsoft Authenticator app going forward.
